Jim Fairbairn - CEO
Jim Fairbairn joined Megger as Group CEO in November 2017. Jim previously led the Power, Environmental and Process division of Howden Group, a platform organisation of US based Colfax Corporation and has a strong track record of delivering long-term growth strategies and shareholder value with global companies across diverse territories. From 1995 to 2009 Jim worked for Clyde Blowers Capital and John Wood Group PLC in senior leadership roles.
Jim graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a First Class Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering, is a Chartered Engineer and has an MBA from Loughborough University. He was awarded an OBE in 2007 for his contribution in helping the long term unemployed in Glasgow into sustainable work. In 2013 he was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and in 2017 was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
Richard Aylwin - CFO
Richard Aylwin joined Megger as Chief Financial Officer in 2014. Prior to joining Megger, Richard spent 7 years with Eurotherm, now part of Schneider Electric, where his positions included General Manager and Global Finance Director.
With particular responsibility for overseeing Meggers’ financial health and legal compliance, Richard and his team work with the rest of the group to provide information systems, insight and best practice to support the ongoing business expansion of the company. The right information that provides the right insight to make the right decisions is one of Richards mantras.
Richard has an Engineering degree from Nottingham University and his early career was with PriceWaterhouseCoopers during which time he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. With this qualification he has since gained a wealth of experience holding Finance Director positions in sectors as diverse as Fresh Food, Engineering and Recruitment.
Dr. Andrew Dodds - Group Technical Director
Andrew Dodds joined Megger in 2002 as Marketing Director for the Dover business, before moving to a Group role in 2013 as Director of Group Development, responsible for the manufacturing and development locations in UK, Germany, Sweden and USA.
With responsibility for the various group engineering and manufacturing centres, Andrew provides guidance on future product developments and complimentary growth opportunities. Andrew is passionate about electrical safety, an attribute that is synonymous with Megger's business and insists it is a top priority designed into all test products and procedures to ensure safe operation for personnel.
Andrew was awarded a Doctorate in Industrial Marketing from Lincoln University in 2005. He started his career as an Engineering Officer in the civil service before making a considered change into Industry.
Recently appointed to the CIGRE UK Executive Committee, Andrew’s other professional interests include that of an external examiner for the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a continuing interest in studies of economic history and intellectual property law.
Andrew Boughtwood - Group Sales and Marketing Director
Andrew is Sales and Marketing director for Megger Group, having first joined the company in 1998 as Managing Director of the Dover based instrument business. Prior to joining Megger, Andrew held various general management and director positions in Textron, Bowthorpe Holdings and Schlumberger.
Andrew is responsible for the marketing, sales and commercial operations across the group. Developing the company’s local knowledge and establishing local business partnerships for better customer service has been one of Andrew’s passions and one of the foundations that contributes to Megger's success.
Andrew holds a first class honours degree in computer technology and has worked in the test and measurement industry for over 35 years.
